psychotherapy or counselling?

Definitions of psychotherapy and counselling differ.  Counselling is usually shorter term, whereas psychotherapy is more in-depth and explores emotional patterns that are often unconscious and have their root in the past, with sessions that may take place more than once a week.  Practitioners work in different ways, depending on their professional training and personal philosophy.

It is important to select a therapist that you feel you might be comfortable talking with, someone who you can feel wants to make a meaningful connection with you.

I am registered with The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and am an Accredited Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The way I work is psychoanalytically informed.  A growing deep understanding of your psyche can help you make sense of complicated feelings and foster lasting healing.  Together, we will begin to explore the unique depth of your story, uncovering and exploring the ways in which it has led you to this present moment.
