psychotherapy or counselling?

Definitions of psychotherapy and counselling differ.  Counselling is usually shorter term, whereas psychotherapy is more in-depth and explores emotional patterns that are often unconscious and have their root in the past, with sessions that may take place more than once a week.  Practitioners work in different ways, depending on their professional training and personal philosophy.

It is important to select a therapist that you feel you might be comfortable talking with, someone who you can feel wants to make a meaningful connection with you, is interested in understanding you, in all the ways that make you, you.

I am registered with The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and am an Accredited Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).   The way I work has at its heart, psychotherapy.  How I work with you, will be unique.
